beliefs

We believe that WHAT you believe & WHY, really matter. It’s important to clearly understand both. Here are some fundamentals that we believe are foundational to faith in Jesus, along with scriptures from the Bible.

1. God = The Trinity

We believe there is one true, Holy God, eternally existing in three equal persons. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 3:7-11; 1 John 5:7; 1 Peter 1:2

2. The Bible

The Holy Bible, and only the Bible is the authoritative Word of God for faith & daily living.

Psalm 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 1:13, 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

3. The Problem of Sin & Salvation in Jesus Alone

The central purpose of God’s revelation in Scripture is to call people into relationship with Him. Jesus Christ is God the Son. Jesus is 100% God & 100% man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, & will return again in power & glory.

4. The Purpose of Every Christian & Every Church Through the Power of the the Holy Spirit

The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world. The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides Christians with spiritual gifts to help serve the church, power for living, daily guidance, & sharing their faith. We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the church today and should be sought by every follower of Christ.

5. The Return of Christ

We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness & salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven & hell are real places of eternal existence. Jesus Christ will physically & visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His kingdom.
